Question

how to choose among these two laptops

May 21, 2017 5:45AM PDT

I need a laptop which should be good for programming (visual studio 2017, Visual Studio Code/Brackets), Photoshop, Lightroom, Illustrator and flawless browsing. Performance should be good + battery of at least 5 hrs
After hours of research, decided between two laptops but confused to the core on which one to pick.
- Lenovo E570p : AUD$1375

i7-7700HQ Processor (6M Cache, 2.8 GHz, 3.8 GHz max)
15.6" FHD (1920 x 1080), IPS
16GB DDR4 2400MHz SODIMM
Hard Drive: 256GB SSD PCIe+1TB 5400 rpm
NVIDIA GeForce GTX 1050 Ti 2GB DDR5
6-cell (47 Wh)
-Lenovo E570 : AUD$1000

i7-7500U Processor (4M Cache, up to 3.50 GHz)
16GB(8+Cool DDR4-2133MHz SODIMM
Intel 256GB Solid State Drive, PCIe-NVMe OPAL2
4 Cell Li-Cyllinder Battery 41WH
Display and Graphics card are same as E570p
As mentioned above, I'm kind of do hard programming and photo editing and never play games. All i need is please give your points IS $300+ is worth to go for E570p than E570??

P.S : This is like my one time go for at least 3-4 years and might upgrade SSD if necessary to install more Adobe softwares. (suggestions are welcomed for other models as well. Budget : $1500AUD)

You can check the battery times in reviews.

But what is this flawless browsing and how would the choice of laptop make a difference on what I've seen as purely a software play?

In short, the 1050 is a nice choice. There are reviews on gaming performance so you have that covered too.

it's designed to be mobile and the i7 U processor and SSD only. That means you will get better battery, it will run cooler, it is probably lighter but less power. The top one is a gaming machine and won't have the battery life but will have the power.
