Your removing a pcie x16 card @190w and replacing it with a pcie x16 card @130w.
Be careful about physical size.
Some gpu's are quite large.
Might be a good idea to do a little measuring just to verify the new card will fit.
I don't know how to convert #'s > $'s so I'll just say that in the 200 buck range what you picked is a nice card.
Hello,
I'm looking to upgrade my graphics card and feel a little lost when checking if what I'm looking at is compatible with my motherboard.
My current system is:
ASUS P6T SE - http://www.asus.com/Motherboards/P6T_SE/#specifications
1GB ATi HD4890 Graphics accelerator DVI, DirectX 10.1 PCI Express 2
I have been looking at cards around the £150 mark or something similar to a Sapphire Radeon HD 7850 2GB DDR5 HDMI/DVI-I/DVI-D/DP PCI-E.
Can anyone tell me:
If this card is compatible with my motherboard?
If there are any other suitable graphics cards I should look for?
If there is an easy way to search or check graphic card / motherboard compatibility?
Any other information that I should be aware of while looking for something suitable?
Thanks for any advice.
