Clarification Request
changing unique username...
Sep 14, 2011 10:45PM PDT

Moderator (or whoever) can you please clarify. If I want to keep my existing Login Username (email address) and Password but want to change my Unique Username used for this Forum, it is not possible? I have to change (which I don't want) my 'Logins' to cnet.com first? Thank you. Sad

As told below (did you read that?) you'll have to create a new username and stop using the old one.

HOW TO CHANGE USER NAME
Sep 5, 2011 1:39PM PDT

I don't know about free2fish, but I would like to change my user name on here....the CNET website. Is it even possible?? I would hate to delete my account & then start anew, but if that is the only way, then so be it.

Change User Name
Sep 5, 2011 2:23PM PDT

The Forum software deliberately prevents you from changing just your User-name.
You can however re-register for the Forum,
but you must re-register using a different email address and a different User-name.

To re-register....you have to LOG OUT of the forum first. ....

Choose a user-name wisely.
A user-name that includes advertising (in any manner) is not allowed.
