Question

How to change channel using Airport util

Jul 15, 2012 5:08PM PDT

I connect to the Internet via Belkin N600 wireless router fine
from my Windows PC's. I can connect fine from my G4 laptop running Tiger fine as well. And I can connect via wi-fi on the G4.
The question I have is how do I change the channel using the Airport utility. I do NOT have Airport express etc.

Answer
You can't do that with Airport Utility because

you do not have an Airport device.

To change the wireless channel you will have to access your Belkin N600 wireless router and change the wireless channel there.

You access your router via a web browser, IE/Safari/Firefox/Chrome, and putting 192.168.2.1 into the address bar.
Fill in the user name and password and the world is your oyster.

See the documentation that came with the router for full details

Thank you for the feedback.

I suspected this may have been the case. But I wanted to confirm my suspicions.
Thank you.
