General discussion

how to capture an active window.

Sep 29, 2010 1:47PM PDT

i am trying to send by email a cope of a log that pops up in a message box. it will not let me copy so i can paste the info to a email. all of the info does not show on the screen i have to scroll down to see it all. i have tried using windows snippet tool but that does not allow the recipient to scroll the message box. is there any software (hopefully free) that will allow me to capture the message box in such a way that the recipient will be able to scroll to read all of the info. thanks

We'll have to cheat.

Tap Print Screen and past that into some paint program.
Now scroll down and tap Print Screen again and paste that into another paint program window.

Now crop what you want from each and combine the two in your paint program.

Save that new image and then insert that into your email.

Done,
Bob
