Since any compression no matter how good it is results in loss from the original the answer is very easy. Duplicate the media and do not change one bit.

I am backing up my DVDs (as burning one copy as a backup of a DVD you've
purchased is perfectly legal) and I was curious, what are some good
programs for burning the video with minimal quality loss? I'm a tech newbie. Almost all of
my DVD collection that I've ripped is in .mkv (I love the quality-size
ratio!) but some of it is in AVCHD because the quality there is AMAZING.
What programs even support burning .mkv or AVCHD files? Is that even possible? Also, it would be awesome if the program would let me
add a custom DVD menu. I have DVD+R Dual-Layer 8.5GB DVDs to use for the
process, any suggestions? 10 points Best Answer.
