You need to change the boot order. Have you checked the web site for instructions?

Hold down F1 while it's cold booting (not a restart) to enter the BIOS setup screen. Then change the boot order.

I think you're confusing it with the F key choices for bypassing or stepping through windows startup files.

That should be in the user manual. lets you download it.

Or it even on the screen, a message like "Press del to enter setup". Or it's escape of F2 or F10. It's not standardized, and you would be quite lucky if one of our members visiting this site knows. Maybe google knows also. Once in that BIOS setup change the boot order. is a discussion on this subject.

Another issue you might encounter: did you burn the iso you download as an ISO, or as a FILE. The first is OK, the second is wrong. Some people do it wrong. You should use the right option in your burning program or use a dedicated burner like Imgburn (free download).

Why? Well it deals with .ISO files and not much else plus it's free. Yes, there are others but I find folk can get confused about making bootable CDs.

I have a similar problem with the TP600

I am trying to install Peppermint on my TP600. I have created a bootable CD from ISO (my HP laptop boots to the CD jsut fine), and I've changed the bios on the TP to boot to the CD first. When the machine powers on it doesn't boot to the CD but instead goes directly into Windows 3.11. Any suggestions?

Windows 3.11?

Such a machine rarely can boot to CD anymore. If the machine can boot to USB, try that next.

I use the .ISO to bootable USB tool noted on the Ubuntu site.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
