Apparently, you still run the same backup program, that you told to use that Seagate hard disk. Either tell it to use your new hard disk (the user manual or help of that program will tell how), or start using another backup program.
Didn't the WD hard disc come with its own backup software? Does that do what you want?
How do you mean you "uploaded" the drive? That's a very uncommon usage of the word "upload". Generally it means copying a file from your PC to some place on Internet.
And just asking: backup is necessary and it' s fine. But do you know how to get back data from your backup if needed?
A couple of weeks ago, I noticed that my Seagate External Hard Drive (HD) wasn't working properly. I noticed that when a backup was supposed to occur, it wasn't backing up. So, I purchased a "My Passport 1TB External HD". I successfully uploaded the "My Passport 1TB External HD but, when I tried to get my PC to recognize this (for backup purposes) it won't and, still wants to backup to the former Seagate 1TB External HD (which I disabled). How can I get my PC to recognize "My Passport External HD" as the "correct external HD to backup on", as what I have been doing is "Manual Backups Daily", which has been successful to date. However it sure would be nice if the PC performed an "Automatic Backup like it was setup with the Seagate External HD that I set up 4-years ago. By the way, I am using Windows 7.
Thanks for whomever can help me out.
