At the end, it's YOUR CHOICE. One popular app was COLLECTORZ back then but outside of scripts I know about in Linux your steps are not automated unless you gen it up with AUTOHOTKEY (words in all caps are for you to research,)

PS. Don't ditch the CD when done. Those are your licenses to the content.
I have quite a few music CDs with many different genres, and age (20+ yo). I want to be able to do two things:
1) make backup copies of the CDs in high quality format (FLACC, WAV, etc)
2) make backup copies in .mp3. (or similar lossy encoding that is 'universally' accepted)
In both of these approaches, I want to produce a searchable library of the album titles, individual tracks &titles, artist, playing time, etc.
I also want capability to create play lists, browse/search, create CDs and would like these capabilities in an ipad and iphone app as well as on the PC.
CD artifacts such as album cover pics and nice but not necessary.
My goals here are 1) insert the CD in the PC only once and copy to HD creating both formats, along with all the associated music management interface
2) Have a UI on multiple devices that I can manage the searching/playing of music and create/burn duplicate CDs or various playlists of CDs.
Thanks for any pointers.
