Hello,
I'm trying to allocate a few subnets, I have a fair amount of control over what these ranges can be (using amazon aws).
I need to create a 'VPC' which contains the complete CIDR. For instance I created a random one as;
172.156.0.0/27
My assumptions are this will enable me to have 8 subnets with 32 hosts/clients/servers each.
I now need to define my 8 subnet ranges;
172.156.0.0 to 172.156.0.31
172.156.0.32 to 172.156.0.63
172.156.0.64 to 172.156.0.95
172.156.0.96 to 172.156.0.127
172.156.0.128 to 172.156.0.160
172.156.0.161 to 172.156.0.192
172.156.0.193 to 172.156.0.224
172.156.0.225 to 172.156.0.256
However I'm not sure how to define these as a block or if my understanding of how subnets and CIDR is even correct.
I want to use different subnets so I can assign different security settings to each, ie some will be public facing and will generate a public IP. Others will be for internal use only for work on different projects to keep each project separate.
Any help is appreciated
