How to add an extra speaker to Onkyo 7.1,Bose Acoustimass 16

Jul 23, 2009 1:59AM PDT

I've had for 2 years the Bose Acoustimass 16, 6.1, hooked to an Onkyo TX-SR604, 7.1. I just bought a BluRay Sony BDP-S360, and would like to enjoy the 7.1 feature of the Onkyo. However, ALL Bose's speakers are wired to Bose's SUB. There's 5 speakers and one center. Where do I add the extra speaker for the 7.1 experience?
a) I've read that hooking up a Bose VCS 10 as a center, directly to the Onkyo would suffice to replace the center. However, how would Bose's Sub interpret this? Would I then use the old center speaker as a left or right speaker? Is it designed for that?
b) Should I buy an extra bose speaker(double cube acoustimass series 4), and hook it directly to the Onkyo? Will this affect the sound?
Please Help!!!

...this is not possible with the acoustimass line. You have to purchase a different speaker/sub system for this to work properly. Someone please correct me if I'm wrong or behind the latest Bose tech anyway.

1 Bose does not have a sub, they have 'base module'... The cut off is somewhere around 60hz, a sub is about 28-32hz
There is a saying 'No highs, No Lows, must be a Bose'

Pepe7... Bose has not changed their stuff in 10+ years, only thing that have changed is add more colors and there price $^^
