The boss/owner/current network admin should have the ability to use "Active Directory Users and Computers" on the Domain Controller. The link below, especially the bottom section since you already have a domain account established for yourself, should get you on the right track..

Hope this helps.

Hi,
My boss (who is the owner, not really an IT guy) wants to add me as a network administrator. This is so that when PCs in our office have new hardware such as scanners, I can do those installations which require network admin.
Before he left for Christmas holidays, he tried and failed to set me up. He logged into my PC as an administrator, started to set me up, but he only got so far before the option to add me to the network domain was grayed out. I could be added to the local computer domain, but not the global one.
So my question is, does he have to log on to the actual network server to add me as a global user / network administrator? Or is it possible to do it from my PC when he logs in as admin?
And if you could point me to a step by step how-to on adding a new global user with administrator rights, I would greatly appreciate it.
