Question

How to A Password Protection For USB Flash Drive?

Mar 12, 2016 11:01PM PST

I need to setup a password protection for my USB flash drive. After some online search, including searching on the download section of this web site, I haven't find a right software. All I need is that my files on the USB flash drive won't be freely accessible by others in case it is lost. I used to have a USB flash drive which I needed to enter a password before I could use it. Any suitable software for this purpose? A free one will be better.

you can buy usb drives that are already secure. you can even get one that requires your fingerprint. It would be better than using software. one example is Kingston Digital 16GB Data Traveler Locker

Not for Zip files

My question isn't about zip file encryption.

My answer is how to encrypt almost anything.

I can use this on my laptop to lock up files as I choose. I use this since I don't like whole disk encryption. Some ask why. It's mostly because it's not supported across OSes. I use Linux, Apple OS X and other OSes. This way it works across the OS spectrum.
