How the mighty have fallen...

it seems like it was only yesterday when TheRUMP was taking a victory lap and high -fiving everyone on HIS deal with North Korea....

Liberals "burning TheRUMP"? Donnie carries his own torch....starts his own fires.

Now I'm waiting to see how HIS proclamation of success with Mexico on NAFTA pans out....

Quick to take credit for something that has not happened yet.

If it blows up he will just go quiet or blame someone else.

I'll wait to see what the Canada/US/Mexico package looks like.

No matter what happens his base will think he's wonderful.

eroding, though much too gradually IMO.

You are right, though - as he said he could probably get away with murder on Fifth Avenue. (it would be of course a 'stand your ground' situation) [!]

as far as NOKO is discussed, you can actually blame China for again interfering with any deals Kim might make with the US. China is very concerned with their lost leverage and influence over Kim that they have had comfortably as far back as Kim's grandfather. They love that power and control, especially now over a very young leader who has nobody but his military (old school establishment types BTW....sound familiar?) whispering in his ear as his 'advisors', and all are pointing at China as the best to steer him. It doesn't matter that what Kim wants is the same economic benefits that China enjoys.....CHINA doesn't want them to have it because THEY lose control over the region if Kim wakes up and smells that 'fake' tea China is serving them. China to NOKO is the Dem/liberal party here....keep people down and you keep control because they have to depend on YOU to save them. Eventually Kim or HIS successor will see the light and walk into it. BUT Trump said all along.....'we'll see what happens' and he's not afraid to walk away from a bad deal. We just aren't openly sure right now who's actually calling the shots over there.

AFTER he does a victory lap.....

And NOW people are "seeing what happened".

The term "counting HIS chickens before they've hatched" comes to mind, along with "egg on HIS face"...

Get it?...Chickens....eggs? Sometimes it looks like he does put an eggwash on his face...it's almost orange.

I suggest HE should "see what happens" BEFORE the victory lap.

PS..just watching a "replay" of TheRUMP sitting at the table just after Hurricane Maria..actually boasting that ONLY 16 people have died..."we'll see what happens"...Well, now we're seeing what happened...

Hi Toni,

I agree about your view about N.Korea - China's ambitions are quite rapacious and not exactly what one would call veiled either! Though the whole area is balanced/manipulated by Russia, Japan, Indonesia, maybe Australia(?) etc - or at least that's several theories I've read over the years. Like the rest of the world we should be concerned about *any* strongman / dictator wannabes and potentials for outright war, even if proxied - Russia and China are known actors at that game.

I don't have a solution, of course, (or I would have mailed it to my Congressmen/Women by now!) - just hope my younger friends don't live to see WW3 (or myself, for that matter). I suspect the 2050's will be interesting indeed... even without outright war.
