How shoud I transfer my songs?

by Platinum / December 14, 2004 7:53 AM PST

I have a huge library of songs on my old pc that I want transfered to my new laptop. I want to store my songs on removable media so that in case the hard drive crashes I would have them safe. I am wondering what removable media
that I should store them in. Should I use cdr's, dvd's (since there are players that can support dvd-a)or usb flash drive and then transfer them to my laptop? Please give me some ideas.

I recently bought a DVD burner. Burned 675 songs on one DVD and my mp3 capable DVD set top player plays the disc.
That is my 2 cents.

Platinum, IF You've Got A DVD Burner...
by Grif Thomas Forum moderator / December 15, 2004 4:06 AM PST

...and since you mentioned "store my songs", then I would use the DVD to store them. DVD media will a lot more data and fewer disks can be created. If you ever want to copy the songs to your new computer, or simply burn a CD using the DVD, it shouldn't be difficult to do so.

If you've only got a CD burner, then I would use that option. Same principle, just a diffent number of CD-R disks will be required.

Hope this helps.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
