How relevent is UK post on CNET forums?

Sep 21, 2006 11:54PM PDT

I come from the UK, and I do not know how relevant any postings are on CNET forums. I have just sent an email answering Reta K's. question, in today's weekly Newsletter. I assume that Rita could order from the UK just as we can order from the US.
Regards,
John.

The same methodology applies to users of all localities, so your advice is just as applicable as that provided by someone living in the US or Australia. The only catch is when it comes to ordering something...assuming there are no import/export restrictions, you have to choose between paying shipping on an item or purchasing a similar item locally. In addition, currency conversion comes into play, so you should always mention what currency the amount is in, be it USD, EUR, or other.

Aside from that, remember that these forums are not just for Americans...people from all over the world post here, so it may just turn out that the person you're responding to is another Brit (see Flaxman, Mark) or perhaps a mate from down under. Happy

Even when your solution to a problem involves hardware or some product, overseas posters have the same resources available to them. Most stuff sold here is also available in the rest of the world and does not have to be ordered from a foreign country.
For instance, if the solution is a Router, you would not expect a UK resident to be ordering a Router from the US. They would just go to their nearest computer store and get one. (The voltage would be correct too!)

So, if you are worried that your input is not important, consider that this forum is world-wide, it is not exclusively American.

Wow, I never knew you were a Brit. Must be living in Louisiana for so may years has given you that unique southern twang. Happy

I've also never checked your profile before. I liked the quote;

''Never ask a man what machine he drives,
If it''s a Mac, he''ll tell you,
Otherwise, why embarrass him?''

But I fear you are mistaken! I am not at all embarrased to tell the world I drive a Win.... Wi......Wnds....., ohh forget it!! Devil
