How many years does Apple support their discontinued phones?

I'm curious how long Apple produces batteries and other parts for their discontinued phones. If I'm using iPhone 8+. If I need a new battery in 2021 will Apple still be producing new ones?

Maybe not Apple

But maybe someone else does. You need to check the battery model number and search for that . I recently did this for another product...

While my answer is they will.

What if Apple closes up shop and it's the end. Also, why not other than Apple for this battery? I've used such from Amazon and the other makes seem fine.

Also you have shops that are not Apple that change Apple iPhone batteries. Why are you sticking with just Apple for a mundane part?
