Looks like Capt. Merck might have gone AWOL, to boot. Anyway, if found guilty, he is toast.
Events like this reflect on all those in command.
I suported many of the base closings. However, the draw down is another story. IMO, our forces are spread mush too thin.
I wonder if fatique entered into some of the bad decisions made by the infamous few recently, as well.
Why Capt. Merck didn't stop and think is known only to him. Although there are thousands of troops there, so few have violated military conduct
The vast majority of "weekend warriors" perform superbly, but it looks like those few may have benefitted from discipline week in and week out.
