Pat182rick,
Thanks for posting.
The first 100-200 hours you want to be careful, as you have been. After that initial break-in period, you can run the Scrolling Bar feature when you detect images in the all-white screen, but don't feel that this will always be a daily ritual.
As well, you might want to consider limiting the black bars to 15% of your viewing time, or zooming the screen. (You can stretch it, also, but I hate watching TV stretched, and just assume that most people do, too).
Thanks for taking the time to understand the technology, and making the effort to get the most out of your television.
Keep me posted, and we're here if you have any questions!

I just bought the 50A650 and love it, but have been super paranoid about burn in. I have the pixleshift set to the settings that samsung recommends, but I have been watching a few dvds that still have the black bars on the screen and am afraid of burn in. Will I get burn in from watching one movie? I've been so paranoid that I have been pausing the movie every 10 minutes and running scrolling bar.
Any advice?
