Question

How Load music to Win 10 PC, share w/ iOS iPad and Backup

I have a large music library of MP3s and CDs (over 300 albums) that:
1) I want to load on my PC (Win 10 v 1511) to listen to the library and as the master control of the library.
2) Copy this library to my iPad Air running iOS 9.2 for listening on this device.
3) Backup library in a standalone format that i can use in case of a disaster.

I'm presently using Winamp (PC) and Picker (iOS) but will happily change to get my music working again.

I thought i was fairly computer literate but at 77 I'm finding that's not as true as it used to be. Sorry if I'm in wrong place but not sure where else to go. Please, any advice or suggestions on what to do or where to look would be greatly appreciated.

The use of the iPad means we'll have to import into iTunes or try http://www.mediamonkey.com/

As each user has different goals I don't want to upset anyone but I'm OK with keeping my content in my own way and using iTunes when I want to load an Apple thing. Also, since the goals are almost always all over the map, my way is rarely what folk are looking for.

In spite of all that, try MediaMonkey.

I'm on a PC and wonder why this is so complicated ?
I'm still working on my music library after a couple of years.
I have over 400 Gb's now on several backup HDD's,
that's not a lot but I don't have to even think about where those tunes are .

The one thing I can do is copy / paste from my many backups to wherever I want and have it work.

These Lazy Apple folk's want to use ITunes and not have any backups , than... download to an MS ( PC ) that they so despise and here we are asked to share what we know with them while us PC folks had to learn everything by ourselves ,
and I'm all good with that, let's rock !

I did ask a question once >

What make you said that? Is itune really that easy or is it because they have to use it because those itune store music are encrypted? I am have such problem now trying to put itune music into a player that's not an ipod.

just going to tell you what I do

Itunes keep all music in your music folder. back when I had the iphone, I would just keep a copy of the folder in another location for a backup. then all I have to do is to import it over to the music folder if there is some sort of disaster. I am still using the original itunes library with the android and pc.

You said you are using winamp, then all you have to do is to navigate to the music folder and play your music on your PC.
