man i hate how as technology moves forward, prices fall. when i bought my gateway 820gm in january, it was $1200 w/o monitor or printer, with a p4 3ghz 1gb ram, 250gb hdd, and an x300. scary that you pay less and get more power just months from january. yes, that is a good buy. agreed, upgrade the gpu to at least a 6600gt. i also recomend the power supply as its only 300w. so before u add a gpu, replace the crap generic one with an antec ozc or enermax to make your pc live longer. enjoy.
