How I can reinstall my laptop if OS CD is damaged?

Aug 29, 2012 10:43PM PDT

Hi!
I'd like to reinstall MS Windows XP Media Center Version 2005 with update rollup 2 on my DELL Inspiron E1750, but the operating system installation disc appears damaged, do not read the data. Is it possible to restore the CD disk. May be I can it download from your site or otherwise. I contacted with Microsoft and it said because version of Windows is OEM, then I ask to the computer manufacturer. What advice would you give me, how to I can reinstall operating system?
Thanks.

The best advice: ask Dell Customer support for a replacement CD.

Are you sure it's the disk that's damaged. Just as well it could be the drive. The things to check:
- Is the drive the first boot device?
- Can you boot from this disk on another PC?
