Since the test would be with supplied gear and as time passes the SSD drive could have newer firmware to boost the speed, any benchmark is out of date as soon as the maker updated.
So far, no review site actively looks for such updates but some folk are upset when the numbers don't match.

How does CNET test/measure data transfer speed on SSD drives? I was reading the review of the OCZ Vertex 4 SSD and it had a graph/chart showing on Page 2 of the review showing the data transfer rates for a whole bunch of drives. The speed shown, for example, the Sandisk Ultra was 96.4MB/second. But when I tested a Sandisk Ultra on my system it reached a max. of 284MBps sequential read and 268MBps seq. write on ATTO benchmark, and 272/260MBps on CrystalDiskMark, and 281MBps on HD Tune. So how come the CNET results look so low for all the drives listed, not just the Sandisk?
