It is worth in my opinion.
First it is famous brand
second, it has all the functions i need
third, i love its look
The Fire 7 HD and it is working fab for amazon prime video to the TV over HDMI. The HDX dropped the HDMI so for me it's a no sale. But I see Amazon rolled out their set top so that looks interesting.
OK, here's the bottom line. Is it something you will use?
