how do you stream audio via bluetooth

Aug 18, 2011 7:22AM PDT

how do you stream audio via bluetooth usb dongles that are plugged into two computers. for the purpose of having one computer in one room streaming audio out of its speakers and then walking into another room that has a second computer and it too is streaming the same audio out of its speakers. Allowing for multiple computer connections and the ability to quickly turn off the transmitting and recieving of the radio to allow for instant mute.

Answer
Not a feature of Windows.

While I think some crafty Linux person could sort this out, this is not a feature of Windows and it's apps for bluetooth.

Are you thinking of writing such an app?

I've been tempted before to try to design a small program to allow this for linux but as of yet was simply checking all other means and seeing if anyone had attempted this before. me and a few nerd friends have been attempting to fiddle with linux and see just how cool we can get our Bluetooth networks capable. but as of yet have been unable to fulfill this agenda. If we are able to design the software we will create a small package and upload it so others are able to use it and will be more than happy to inform you as to where it is and how it is going.

You have to wonder why bluetooth.

It's cranky on Windows, has no range and well, I can't think of why we'd use this over some wifi or ethernet streaming.
