Hello! My name is Alex and I want to find out how do people usually search for storage solutions for data centers. This is a research.

Since you're talking data centers, they should have a trained IT staff who does such things. They will already have worked out a plan for what is needed and will look at potential providers. I'd think the costs of their choices would need to be run through accounting or such for approval.

Yeah, thanks. But actually I ment how does the IT staff look for the supplier? Is it only google, or they have some sort of base of the suppliers?

I'm fairly certain that varies

with the size and needs of each operation as well as the capability of the IT staff. I don't think you'll find a one size fits all. I'm not in that end of the company I work for but I'm willing to bet that many vendors woo potential customers, do presentations of what they offer, etc. One way IT would be able find stuff would be to put out bid specs and see who could meet the stated needs. There's all kinds of ways to find what one wants.

This can be very easy.

You work at a company XYZ that has an office and you do your google then make the calls so you can send out your RFQ.
