The stock Explorer here and I have the usual Pictures folder. In that are folders with the Year and inside that by month and or event. Some events are in their own folder.
I've never found any app for this that worked across OSes and devices so I use the folder approach and that is working across Windows, Android and Linux.

How do you organize your picture files on Windows 8? Do you use a program?
I use to use Windows XP's camera tool because you could name a set of pictures and the tool would number the files and that is gone in Windows 8. I would have to rename every file to know what it is. It would be a plus if a program could put my photos into folders by dates.
