How do you get the audio to the linein to work? LP 2 CD

Mar 18, 2005 10:30AM PST

I am trying to convert about a hundred Jazz LPs to CDs and have an old Pioneer PL-550X turntable. The PL-550X works with my stereo system. I have tried to feed it direct, through an amp using the tape outputs, and have bought a used preamp that has been used for this work before and I get no signal from either method. ??????

I am using Polterbits Sound Recorder software to acquire the audio.

Any guesses as to what I am doing wrong?? Gimme a combination that works. Any suggestions are appreciated.

Couple things to look at.

Double click on the speaker icon and make sure that the "line-in" is not muted and set to a decent level.
If you can hear the music on the speaker that means at least the physical connectios are ok; the problem then is in the software. I am not familiar with the software you are using so I can't comment on it.
