Resolved Question

How do you get rid of BAD NOTEPAD?

Feb 18, 2012 1:08AM PST

I use Winpatrol, which asks for permission for a program to be added Start up tasks, or Active tasks. Every ten minutes, or so, a program which says it's NOTE PAD is trying to replace a legitimate program like the real NOTE PAD, or my Registry. I click NO every time, but it keeps trying.
Malwarebytes indentifys it as BAD NOTEPAD, but isn't able to permanently git rid of it. I think it is dangerous. Thanks.

I found the problem within the WinPatrol software itself. It was in the section with the file types. I removed all the NOTEPAD entries, and any entries that were not from Microsoft.
I no longer have the problems that were behaving as though the computer was infected. Thanks again for responding.
