How do you feel about CA Internet Suite

I have a Vista Home Premium ser pac 1,9600 Phenom Quad core processor 2.3 ghz.I have ZA security suite for some time now and the last update to 8.0.20 that was offered as a auto update corrupted my system.Things started happening after that update.Windows auto update quit working,my WD external HDD went off line.The media center update scheduler quit working.I tried un-installing clean 3 times and going back to the previous 7.1.xxx but the same problem still would exist.I am done even though I got about 200 days left.Now that it is gone everything is back to normal.Clean uninstall apparently is not clean because the program worked flawlessly before the 8.0 update.My broadband service provider Insight Communications offers this CA suite to their customers free of charge as long as you have their service.I would like to know how it preforms by anyone who has used it.Did it slow down things or is the firewall OK.Any advice would be great.Thanks
