How do you embed a sound file to play, either all the way or just a small part, in PowerPoint 2007?

Powerpoint doesn't naturally accept mp3 sound files, only wav files. What type of sound file are you attempting to embed?

It also includes a method of 'tricking' Powerpoint into thinking an mp3 file is a wav file.
