How do you define if a network is a LAN or a WLAN?

If my Local Area Network has wireless access points, is it then classed as a Wireless Local Area Network even if the majority of the connections are wired?

In LAN, Data is transmitted via cables and In WLAN, data is transmited via cables but over the air through the use of wireless transmitters and receivers.
