Question

How do you convert a digital picture frame into a monitor

Jan 17, 2012 2:19AM PST

Does anyone know if I can use an a/v to a mini usb adapter to hook up a security camera I got for christmas to my digital picture frame for live video, instead of buying a small flat screen tv? The picture frame is capable of playing video so I was thinking it would be cool and much cheaper to see what's going on outside my house by watching the digital picture frame. I found adapters online that have the female yellow and white a/v plugs (that I could plug the male yellow and white plugs from the security camera into) and that changes it into a mini usb that can plug into the back of my digital picture frame. Would this work the same as hooking the camera up to my tv, which is its original purpose,so I can watch a constant live stream. I don't need to record, I just want to view so I can see who's coming to my door. I hope someone can help me with this and I'm praying that this is possible.thanks

Simple.

I would have to replace it with some monitor. I bet you think there is some cable or setting but the truth is that for the time and parts you would spend converting this could be very expensive.

the mini USB port on the digital picture frame is just a way of getting data into the onboard RAM.
From there it is processed and displayed on the screen.
Inputting video into that port would just be a waste of time.
