While I would disable www.windowws.cc by adding it to the HOSTS file and maybe to the routers block list, you should be able to use the usual tools to eject your homepage hijacker.

Your post did not list what tools you used. Here's a short list. Adaware, Spybot, Housecall, and Hijackthis.

After you have ran Spybot, Adaware, etc. , have you reset your homepage as the default ? Are your Spybot, Adaware etc. up to date ?

Restart ? Do you mean you did not reboot after running Spybot, Adaware, etc. and after resetting your homepage as the default ? Try an online-scan at HOUSECALLand/or HERE and see what other unwelcome visitors you have.

Although no options are given, do try rebooting to let Windows and your browser 'reset' themselves to the 'new configuration'.
