How do I use Ccleaner.

by Ray Harinec / March 13, 2007 11:46 PM PDT

Maximum PC Magazine says that it is great. Downloaded it, installed it but have not used it. Can't locate instructions.

If I look at the info it shows, basically all of my programs etc have X's in the box. Also the removal list shows all of my programs etc.

It appears that if I click to run Ccleaner, all of these items will disappear. Is this correct?? Seems like a disaster waiting to happen to me.

Is there a tutorial or simply an explanation of the settings and what they mean?

Magazine says it will dump Windows XP's useless detritus and clears out those log files. My question is WHO desiganates the files that are detritus, and which log files et al???
