How do I upload cell phone pictures to computer? LG VX8700

How in the world do I get photos from my cell phone to my computer?
I've looked on Verizon's website and either I'm blind or they don't tell you. I'd imagine a specific USB cord compatible with my phone jack will work. I assume that's available throught verizon. Is there a free method to do this before I go down to the verizon store?

Easy way..

There is a cable available through various websites including Verizon (perhaps ebay is the cheapest route its around 30 bucks) however the easiest way to do so is to email the photos to yourself in the form of a picture messasge.

Another option

Another option is to just buy a MicroSD card. You have to take out the battery to get at it on the VX8700, but once you have the card in and format it using the phone's format option, you should be able to transfer all of your pictures over to the memory card. Then you just need some kind of memory card reader that can either handle MicroSD cards directly or some sort of an adapter to regular SD size.

It's a bit more of a convoluted system than the USB cable, which you can also get on places like Amazon for $10 shipped, but it works. And having a memory card in the phone allows you to take many more pictures. You can even set the phone to store pictures on the memory card by default.

If you do get the USB cable, I'd suggest looking into the program BitPim. It will let you do a lot of things for free that Verizon will try and charge you for.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
