If you need a motherboard with a AM3 socket to fit a new processor in, you'll have to buy a new motherboard also.

On the biostar website,it seems to say there is a bios update,but it is not clear how to go about it.
No one should second guess BIOS update instructions as it can result in a motherboard that has to go back to the maker.
Have the maker update the board or the instructions.
Since no link to said instructions or a note about what was unclear, we have to stop here.
