How do i upgrade my android to version 4.2.2

My Android shows it is version 4.2.1 and i want to upgrade to version 4.2.2, i have since installed the secure update app from Google play and it advises that i go to Settings, select about phone, then install the system update, however when i do that i don't see the option to install the system update.Any help how to go about shall be appreciated

That is, such updates are issued by the maker then may have to be tested if there is a cellular component and so without the make/model I can't look into this further. There are going to be millions of phones and tablets left behind.

The great thing about android is that it is open source.
Also there are quite a few people out there that provide Android updates.

If you are willing to get your hands a bit dirty. (But there are some pretty comprehensive guides out there, but still risky, of bricking your device)

One of the most widely used is CyanogenMod. (There are others)
They maintain Android versions for many, many devices.
The current version is build on a vanilla Android 4.4.4 (Google version/ nexus version, so Android without manufacture extras)

WARNING: I recommend taking proper backups since, 1 it will be wiping your device and 2 updates might contain bugs, or might not be a favorable experience, so you might want to go back. Always recommended to read the "Known bugs" section.

My Android phone is running 4.3. The update automatically occurred about one week ago.
