How do I upgrade from IE 5.0 to 5.5 if I cant get online?

Dec 11, 2006 2:58PM PST

I have an older windows 98 laptop that I am trying to install a linksys wireless pc card in. It has no modem, no eithernet card. What do I have to do to upgrade? Why upgrade you ask... The installation disk for the wi fi card says that IE 5.5 is required. I have 5.0. But no way to get online. I have another computer that I can get online and burn CD's. I downloaded the ie55setup.exe, and the ie55.exe files, but the setup program does not give me an option to install from a CD as far as I find anyway.

I have a laptop with a CD-ROM only, trying to upgrade IE 5.0 to 5.5 so that the wireless card installer will work. Any ideas?
