How do I unistall SP2

Aug 1, 2007 1:23PM PDT

I want to reinstall windows but I cant boot from the disk because for some reason it doens't want to, when I insert the disk to install it it sais that I cant install it because I have a more recent version of windows(sp2) I tried uninstalling SP2 but my computer didn't want to start again to I had to go to safe mode and I had to use system restore to a point when I still had sp2 now I can't unistall it because it's not on Add or Remove Programs, How do I get rid of SP2 now?
The reason I want to reinstall windows xp is because my computer is really messed up and I kind of want to star over again.

Simple fix

Just boot from the XP CD instead of trying to run it from inside Windows. Then pay attention for an option to format the drive, and be sure to do so before reinstalling.

It might also be worth your while to make an SP2 slipstreamed install CD. There are guides a plenty to be found via Google or any other search engine if you need one.

his first post, he says he cannot boot from the XP CD, and the reason i asked if his version was legit is if it is a pirated XP, it might not boot.

another thing, if it is a genuine XP, check your bios to boot from CD Drive first
