How do I transfer video to dvd the easy way for Sony MinCam?

Dec 29, 2005 10:06AM PST

I'm looking for the no frills way to tranfer home video from minitape to dvd. I'm now uploading footage from minitape to computer file then burning, but my problems is...do you really have to upload to computer file from minitape in real time? In other words 1 hour of footage takes 1 hour to upload? Then 5 min to burn.
please help.
thanks

John is correct: Realtime is the way life is in the world of video editing. Now that technology has allowed us "home users" to do video editing (rather than professionals who could only do it a few years ago), we are hit upside the head with the reality of video editing and home video producing. It's time consuming, to say the least. My career has been spent in TV post-production. You should see how much time is spent creating a :30 second commercial! Days and sometimes months! And you mention only 5-minutes to burn? Wait until you edit a 2hr home movie. It will take hours to encode to MPEG before burning.

The first time I did this I had 450mhz PC. I would get the video ready, hit the encode button and go to bed, hopping it would be done when I got up in the morning. John
