How do I switch from McAfee to AVG?

I know that I can't run two anti-virus systems but I need help switching systems. I have McAfee but it ran out and I want to switch to a free system I see that AVG is very popular. Do I delete McAfee or disable it some how? I don?t see anywhere to turn it off. Does AVG have firewall too? When I try to download AVG I get Extraction Failed File is corrupt can you help me there too? I have Vista and have never had any problems. I have had it for 18 months now. bluebird212

Uninstall McAfee From Add/Remove Programs First

...then, to make sure everything McAfee is gone, download the free MCPR.exe tool from the link below and run it..

Once that's done, then download and install AVG using the link below. Click on the link below, then click on the small "Download AVG Free 8.0 (AVG server)" to download the file directly from their server.
