How do I replace the previous owners name to mine?

by eliphant0723 / August 19, 2006 9:26 AM PDT

Hi, I just started a new job and on the Windows XP Home Edition computer that I use I would like to replace the previous owner's name (Anne) to mine (Larry) in all of the folders & files & wherever else it applies. I really don't know a better way to ask this question but I'm hoping someone knows what I mean as well as how to help me. Anne was the only user on that computer and so am I now. Thanks, Larry

You can't rename the folders since they are system folders.

Create a new profile in Control Panel / Users & Copy all the data from the old users files into your new profile (Larry)

When done, delete old users account if desired

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
