How do I rename a document title?

Nov 12, 2005 2:55AM PST

I have a few files that I have already renamed the normal way, but when I hover the mouse over the file, some show up with the original document title instead of the file name or no name at all. I would prefer that the title show up with the name I've now given it or nothing at all.

Re: how to rename a document title

Toni,

To change the pop-up title of a Word document:

In Explorer:
- Right click>properties (in Explorer).
- Go to the summary tab.
- Change the title.

In Word:
- File>Properties
- Go to the summary tab.
- Change the title.

If this isn't what you want, tell more.

Hope this helps.

Renaming documents at "summary"....
Nov 13, 2005 8:55AM PST

Just curious - are the entries at "summary" changed automatically when the documents are renamed "the normal way", i.e. right click....?
