Resolved Question

How do I remove "sgrunt dialer" forever?

Nov 6, 2011 6:17AM PST

My Webroot, paid version, finds this file and quarantines it. I delete it and it keeps coming back. I don't know how I got it! Has anyone had experience with this threat? It's rated as a high threat...need it gone!

False Positive?

putin-gma..

Are you sure it's not a false detection? I've found where a couple of other Webroot user's have reported it.

Where does Webroot say the infected file is located?

You could try uploading the file to VirusTotal to get some other opinions.

I'm unable to find where Webroot suggests how (and where) to report a suspicious file/s. If you have the paid version, they should make that sort of information available to you. Unfortunately, I'm unable to find it anywhere.

thanks for the info. It is located in several Windows/internet/zonemap files. I'll try Webroot service first and then virus total.
