How do I remove corrupt MP3 files fromMP3 player?

Jun 24, 2009 1:02PM PDT

I have a Mp3 player w/ corrupt files on it and I get an error message when I try an delete them from the player. The error message says: "Cannot remove folder. File or directory is corrupted or unreadable." How can I remove them? What software can I download to remove these corrupt files?

try formatting from the player

Hopefully it has that somewhere in the menu. Formatting will wipe out all of the files. I probably wouldn't try formatting it through windows...you might get a totally dead mp3 player.

I was able to remove the corrupted files (using UNLOCK) but the disk space remained on the player as occupied by the files. How can I freeup this disk space? Anyone with any suggestions?

I'm having the same problem. Can you tell me step by step how you were able to delete/remove the corrupted file? Thanks.

I found out what UNLOCKER is. But with all the negative feedback I've heard about it - ie. malewear/spywear & Bing toolbar it adds; I'm affaird to download it. I had a problem recently with malewaer.spywear & ending up have to reinstall my operting system & start from scratch. I don't want to have to that again so I'm not taking a chance & downloading it; even if it would work.

Does anyone else have a alternative to UNLOCKER? I'd really appreciate it. If not I guess I'll just have ignore the corrupted folder.

Thanks.

Format the player the recommended way (could be from the player itself, could be from software on the PC). Then copy all your music again to the player from your PC or where-ever you store the original.
