Number 1, you shouldn't have installed another AV until you removed the other one. So you tried add/remove programs? When you uninstall Avast it will pop up and ask you if you really want to remove it. If you have not got his far. uninstall the other AV then avast. If still acting funny. Download CCleaner. It has a third party uninstall program that may help. If none of these options work for you. Write to avast tech support. They will better be able to help you.

Download Revo Uninstaller from then uninstall Avast by Revo Uninstaller in Advance mode(it will create system restore point automaticaly). After normal uninstall it will scan hard drive and registry for leftover items that you can delete, cation!!! you should know what you are deleting, and then its done.

be logged in with an unrestricted account to be able to change things.

It should remove by going to...

start, control panel, add/remove programs, change/remove, un-install.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
