How do I reformat my pc?

by samgeorowland / May 29, 2010 9:06 PM PDT

Hi, I need some advice.

Due to a long list of reasons I have been told to reformat my pc but I want to give it a go myself.

Someone said that there is a "secret" spot on the hard drive where all of the factory setting and programs will be restored.

How do I do this? I don't have any CD's as the PC was already set up when we got it and due to a break in we lost what originals we had.

I have a HP Compaq Presario C700.. if that makes a difference runnign on Windows xp

Press the F11 button when the computer is starting up. Then look for something along the lines of "Restore to factory condition" and follow the instructions from there.

Help, my PC with Windows 10 won't shut down properly

Since upgrading to Windows 10 my computer won't shut down properly. I use the menu button shutdown and the screen goes blank, but the system does not fully shut down. The only way to get it to shut down is to hold the physical power button down till it shuts down. Any suggestions?
