How do I reduce a .JPG photo & include it in an return ema

Sep 4, 2013 11:44AM PDT

Hi all.

I have no problems in sending .JPG photos via email. I right click the photo and select "send to mail recipient".

Doing it this way the photo is dramatically reduced in size, just what I want. But my problem is, how can I do the same, ie. reduce a photo, if I then need to include fresh photos (so I can retain previous email conversation/s") in a RETURN or FORWARDED email?

If I try to send a frest photo as an attachment file, I am presented with the full "Megabyte/s" sized attachment instead of "kilobytes" size photo as previously said?

Advice appreciated.
Regards

Several ways to do that

The easiest way would be to create a new folder inside your existing pictures folder and copy the pictures you want to email into it. Then highlight them all and right-click on any of them. Then point at Send To -> Email recipient. That will create a new email with the shrunken pictures attached.
Another way would be to use Windows Live Photo Gallery. It has the ability to shrink .JPG files.
There're other programs that will do the same, but this should get you started in the right direction.

Good luck.

Hi there.

What you suggest is what I already do except I do not create a folder. I place them on the desktop, high-lite all and right click to select "Send email to recipient". With this Ihave no problem.

What I need to know is how to reduce the photos BEFORE I select for inclusion into a "Reply" or "Forwarding" email. The key words are "Reply and Forwarding" emails.

What you suggest makes a size reduction "only" when "Send email to recipient" is selected via the right click.

I need to be able to reduce the size independently from the above procedure, so that I may simply attach the shrunken photos to the "return or forwarded" email as an attachment.

Hi again.

I have relented and downloaded the free RIOT program that allows JPEG and some others to be downsized.

Thanks for your advice.
