I think that's a great question to Acronis.
I've had some luck cloning the system to another drive with CLONEZILLA and then putting that on the system on it's own connection but all the details are missing here. And yes I had to use a third drive.
Then again a proper RAID 1 would "just work" if you yanked a drive out. But you find bad RAID all over now.
I have a Dell Inspiron XPS Generation 3 with an Intel 82801FR SATA RAID controller; the RAID 1 consists of 2 250GB hard drives. Now I'm running out of hard drive space. Since I have several USB external hard drives, do a daily Acronis drive image, and do continuous Memeo backups for key files, I don't think the RAID is useful anymore. Is there a way to reconfigure my system WITHOUT RAID so I can reclaim another 250 GB of hard drive space? If possible, I'd like to do it without having to reinstall my operating system and restoring all my data. If I have to restore my data, can I restore it from my Acronis image backup even though it would be restoring to system without RAID?
